The Future of Player Evaluation is Here
Scout Cage is the industry standard evaluation tool for both hitters and pitchers in baseball, softball, and cricket. By testing players in a batting cage with a ProBatter video pitching simulator and a Rapsodo tracking device, as well as video recording devices, following a standard test protocol, the results of this session are measured and compared with those of other players tested using the same protocol. In this manner, coaches and scouts can compare two or more players against their competition, competing against the same evaluation programs. The player’s analytical data is compiled and compared against that of other comparable players, with grades assigned for each element, so that coaches can make meaningful evaluations. It does for player evaluations what the SAT or ACT does for evaluating potential college students in a standardized manner.
The Hitting Scout Cage employs a ProBatter PX3A video hitting simulator, which can be used for baseball, softball, and cricket, and it is coordinated with a Rapsodo tracking system. The Pitching Scout Cage relies on ProBatter’s Strike Out Pro pitcher trainer in combination with a Rapsodo tracking system.
After the session, a detailed report is generated, as well as a video record of the session, so that the player and future coaches and scouts can view the player’s performance. Gone are the days when a coach or scout is forced to scout a player competing against inferior talent, requiring them to guesstimate how the player will perform at the next level.
The Scout system is available for players of all ages, from tryouts for Little League, High School, American Legion, College, and professional baseball. It is anticipated that mobile versions of the Scout Cage will be available, subsidized by sponsors. The following links are provided:
